The recipient of a bachelor's degree in business from Florida State University, Alex Hern is a tech-focused entrepreneur in San Diego, California, who has developed a number of successful Web-based platforms over the course of the last 20 years. In 1996, Alex Hern founded Inktomi, through which he developed software used in the HotBot search engine and acquired companies such as Impulse Buy Networks and C2B. He later cofounded YesMail.com and founded Milcom Technologies, the latter of which was a seed-stage venture capital fund that helped launch 14 technology companies in partnership with federal laboratories and other research and development sources.
